Care & Cleaning
Cleaning and care for your toys is very important. At LeatherPost, we recommend that toys be cleaned after each use to reduce the risk of infection and to maintain the life of your toys. Some toys can be submerged in water (i.e. solid dildos, waterproof vibrators etc.) while others (non waterproof vibrators, electrical sex toys etc.) will have parts that should not be submerged. If in doubt, err on the side of caution and wipe the sex toy with a mild soap solution in warm water followed by a clear water rinse (avoiding any electrical parts). The item should be thoroughly air dried prior to storage - assuming you ever put them away.
If you plan to use a sex toy with a partner it is advisable to use a latex condom (or for larger toys even a latex glove). After use, the sex toy will be relatively clean and the latex condom or glove can be discarded.
Leather Harnesses, etc. can be wiped with a damp cloth and air-dried.
Latex and Jelly Sex Toys are easy to clean with a warm/hot mild soap solution as described above. Avoid anything that contains oil, as this will damage the latex toy.
Rubber Sex Toys are porous and so are more difficult to keep clean than most sex toys. We recommend you always use a latex condom when using rubber toys to make cleaning easier. They can be safely cleaned with a warm mild soap solution followed by a rinsing in clean water.
Silicone Sex Toys are the easiest to clean. Silicone can be boiled for up to 3 minutes, is dishwasher safe and can be cleaned with a bleach solution. If the sex toy isn't suitable for boiling or submerging in water, follow the cautious cleaning regime as described above.
Yeah, it sounds like work, but these are really simple, quick and easy steps that will ensure a longer life for your toys.
